Consultant Pharmacist
Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) are often required to have an independent consultant pharmacist inspect facilities, perform routine audits, review policies and procedures and ensure patient safety. Dava Management Services can provide a pharmacist to complete those requirements, maintain appropriate documentation, and assist with accreditation surveys.
Medication Management:
ASC must properly store medications in accordance to state and federal law as well as accreditation standards. Our pharmacists will assist with High-Alert Medications, Look-a-like Sound-a-like medications and compounded drug preparation areas.
Controlled Substances:

Formulary Management
ASC are required to have a readily accessible formulary. Formulary development is a great opportunity to utilize the guidance of a pharmacist to ensure patient safety and minimize drug costs. Pharmacist can also provide guidance when medication shortages occur. Including alternative medication as well as alternative sources.
Education
During each inspection the pharmacist will provide a summary of findings and recommendations. Pharmacist will also coach staff while conducting audits, as hands on education is often the best method to maintain knowledge. Our team can also provide classes/trainings for staff.
